Here’s a smart idea from Peachy Dublin: collect the spontaneous thoughts, preoccupations and dreams of random Dubliners and then ask 40+ artists to interpret and bring them alive. Peachy Dublin is an exciting art curation collective created by Rebecca Bermingham, Kim Comiskey and Stephen Heffernan. I created three digital images for the Peachy Dublin Exhibition, each reflecting an unknown person’s spontaneous thought, written at the Peachy Box as it was wheeled around the city. The array of artwork was stunning across painting, illustration, photography, mixed media and installations. The buzz was phenomenal too, with over 500 at the launch night alone! And all in aid of positive mental health organisation, Aware. The Peachy team is also setting up an online shop if you want to check out and buy any mine or anyone else’s work. Check http://peachydublin.com/ for details. Among the pics above is also work shown by Mick Minogue, Aoife Herrity, NUNC and Stephen Heffernan. Also, a smashing publicity poster by up and coming artist, one Sadhbh McGloughlin (age 9), included in the exhibition for its last day!
I see images I love all of the time. Sometimes it’s too tempting not to play around with an image and add a twist to what the original artist has seen. Some of these pieces are from the Mabos digital art show that also included my Circular images. For this show Melinda Blennerhasset created fantastic digital art using old arcade game screen. Other fanpics here include a take on Ruth Orkin’s classic, The Man In The Rain, a detail from Maser’s ‘U ARE ALIVE’ on Grantham St., Dublin plus images from Richard Mosse’s amazing show, The Enclave. Finally, not to forget the unknown police photographer in Rochester, NY who gave us a wonderful mugshot of David Bowie himself back in ’76!
Hi. Welcome to my web site. It shows a selection of my images and digital art. Check out the ‘Work’ tab on the menu. It shows some of the visual ideas I have explored over the past four years. Enjoy your stay!
